From: Moray, Scotland
Aidan’s commitment to ‘The Warehouse’ – a local café running projects for the local young people – has been exceptional over the past 4 years. In addition, Aidan also fundraises on behalf of Logan’s Fund, a children’s cancer charity where he has raised over £1,200 to help young people and their families experiencing cancer.
Aidan generously supports a wide range of community groups where he applies himself to whatever tasks are asked of him, whether it is running raffles or talent shows and anything in between. He is also an avid volunteer at Rotaract, a Young Rotarians group. In this capacity, Aidan helps run events during weekends and school holidays, including helping with coffee mornings, Bingo and Tea Dances.
2018 was declared ‘The Year of Young People’ (YoYP) by the Scottish Government setting out to celebrate the talents and achievements of young people. Aidan was one of Moray’s YoYP Ambassadors, a role he fulfilled with enthusiasm and commitment, travelling to various parts of Scotland to take part in training, regularly speaking at events, consulting with other young people to capture their ideas and providing leadership. Aidan suffers with dyslexia but never lets this become a barrier and is always pushing himself.
