Sisters Esme & Bronte are both involved independently in the Mariposa Trust, which is a baby loss support charity their parents founded in 2012. The charity reaches upwards of 50,000 people a week and hosts around 25 remembrance services across the UK, France and the USA called ‘Saying Goodbye’ services. Both girls have a big understanding of what the charity does and both already have ideas of how they can help the charity to grow and help more people.
Esme & Bronte regularly attend the Saying Goodbye Services and both love to help set up equipment, hand out the orders of service and more importantly be a reassuring smiling face for children attending the services, which can be difficult, considering their parents’ loss Both Esme and Bronte are aware that their parents lost five siblings during pregnancy and Esme in particular is very good at explaining what the charity does and how it helps others. At the Mariposa Trust fundraising ball they are both confident chatting to executives and explaining the work the charity does and why it is so important.
This year Esme raised over a £1,000 by walking a half marathon, Bronte – being a little younger is her sister’s staunchest supporter – walked with her for as much of the 13 miles as she was able.
